Stephen Slevin was driving along a rural highway in southern New Mexico in August 2005 when traffic police pulled him over and arrested him on suspicion of drink-driving, along with a string of other motoring offences.

By the time all of the charges against him were dismissed and Mr Slevin was released from custody, it was 2007. For reasons that remain unclear, officials had forced him to spend the intervening two years in solitary confinement.

During the ordeal, he claims to have been denied access to basic washing facilities for months at a time. He'd lost a third of his body weight, grown a beard down to his chest and was suffering from bed sores. Prison officials had also ignored his pleas to see a dentist, forcing him to pull out his own tooth. They declined other requests for attention, including an audience with a mental health professional. He duly became delirious and says that by the time of his release he'd "been driven mad".

This week, a jury in Albuquerque ordered Dona Ana County, which was responsible for incarcerating Slevin without trial, to pay $22m (£14m) in compensation. It was the largest award ever granted to a US prisoner whose civil rights have been violated.

"Prison officials were walking by me every day, watching me deteriorate," Mr Slevin, who still from suffers post traumatic stress disorder, told reporters. The court heard how he was originally arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and "receiving a stolen vehicle". He was thrown into solitary confinement after officers learned that he suffered from depression and decided he might be suicidal.

Matthew Coyte, a civil-rights lawyer who represented Mr Slevin, now 58, during the six-day trial, said he was then "forgotten" and left to "decay".

In letters to staff at Dona Ana County Jail, Mr Slevin claimed to be depressed and unable to sleep in the solitary "pod" there. As time went on, he told them he'd begun hallucinating. No doctor was called, but at the behest of a prison nurse, who had a bachelor's degree in psychology but no medical qualifications, he was given some sedatives. It wasn't until June 2007 that Mr Slevin went before a judge, at which point he was immediately released into the mental health system on the grounds that he was by then incapable of participating in his own defence.

The case throws an uncomfortable light on the use of solitary confinement in the US justice system. At present, an estimated 50,000 inmates are housed in such circumstances, sometimes for years at a time. Dona Ana County had previously offered Mr Slevin $2m to drop his compensation case. It pledged to appeal the $22m award, saying: "we believe we have strong legal issues to raise."

Got DaveGetz’s M240 with four belts of 7.62x51. Got plenty of that caliber in the magazines but those are sniper loadsshe was certain an’ all that belted stuff was ball and armor piercing. Kayla looksforward. Definetly out of the officialChardon town limits but these days those were formalities not even looked at…so long as she wasn’t rolling in the sausage wagon in say, C-Town. Hickbilly cop car there might set off somealarms.

Hitchhiker-well,that isn’t exactly a safe bet these days. Not one bit safe in fact it was a sure bet to get scooped up and throwninto a FEMA camp and God knows where else. Whatever they were doing with millions of out of work, homeless,starving Americans, it’s turned into something that Nazis back in the day couldpoint at and say “see ve ain’t so bad, are ve?”

You don’t havefour dudes spread out along the road, you have one an’ the rest y’all be out ofsight with rifles. Maybe have a dude ortwo nearby if they ain’t got rifles to get to the punk ass cop quick an’ striphim an’ take his ride. Cruise around,flag down other traitors and shoot them in they face but they looks for thatnow so that plan don’t work so good cept if they tired or brand new or justfuckin’ stupid.” Kayla adjusted her jawand it crackles.

Kayla’senergy just leaves her, the lightweight government issued M4 drops to the hoodof the cop car, she loses the power to make words, to even think.

Jesusgingerly, slowly, walks over to the opposite side of the police cruiser, and asKayla Miller goes into mental shutdown he takes the M4 carbine out of herhands, safes and slings it, then helps the girl into the passenger seat. He gets in the driver’s seat and gets going,driving to Chesterland.

Warren, Ohio

In thecommand chamber at the heart of the converted office building, General Warburgof the German Army on a joint NATO operation looks at the holographic displayof Northern Ohio:

*Theelectromagnetic blackout extending 160 kilometers from the Pymatunig Lakebattlesite is still in effect, though there’s now a flashing red beaconindicating a report of a new battle in some hick town named Chardon. Additional markers not moving indicate allthe forces along the 50 km perimeter are moving in rapidly to contain whateverwas in, or got out of the battlesite.

*The 160 kmperimeter was marching methodically inward, with additional holographic videodisplays clicking through of house to house searches like nothing America hasever seen, even during the war-NO consideration given, no quarter offered,everyone marched off into waiting buses and off to a massive FEMA detentioncamp south of Cleveland. ANY resistancewas fired on by every weapon in sight-small arms, tank cannon, gunships, anyNATO fighter-bombers in the vicinity given shoot to kill whatever theycould. All in glorious video that’shours late because of the damned EM blackout that’s the centerpiece of thisverdamnt operation.

*He wasgetting very frustrated with this entire operation.

GeneralWarburg retreats to his office overlooking the command chamber, not evenlooking at the naked, starved, incredibly abused children chained to hisoffice’s walls and gets on the phone. They knew better. He trained themhimself… so he gets on the phone, dials.

“This isGeneral Warburg, I need to speak with the Joint Chiefs… Ja.” Conference calling… he sets the phone tospeaker mode. “This is Warburg; Irequest that the electromagnetic blackout over my battlefield be liftedimmediately. I cannot coordinate mytroops and they certainly cannot communicate with each other, this has turnedinto a disaster-a disaster I am not going to be held responsible for.”

“General,this the blackout stays. We’re preparedto pay whatever cost in men and material in order to contain whatever shot downtwo of the world’s best fighters. Thatdrone-or design-cannot and will not be allowed to escape.”

“Warburg,this is General Dixon, Air Force; you have a nuclear armed B-52 and about allof NATO at your command, just use them!”

“Withrespect, but, if the design for this rebel super drone would turn the tide ofthis war into the enemy’s favor, why not simply bomb the area and use moresouthern routes to break out into the Midwest?”

“Cleveland’sbecome strategic.” Another general-“nation’s road network is densest in this area, not easily cut. Besides, if you’ve been paying attention toall your feeds we’re clearing this region out. We do that, secure it, we’ll use this operation as a template for futureactions against the enemy. Win here, Warburg. There’s no other option. Alright we’re done.”

The phoneline cuts. Warburg simply walks out, thecurrent operation the only thing on his mind. He’s greeted by four American intelligence agents. The lead-a big but wiry blonde haired male inhis late 30’s perhaps 40 leads two finely but simply dressed women and a evenbigger black male who clearly are subordinate…

“GeneralWarburg, if you have a minute-“

“-Ah, TomJager! From Los Angeles-wonderful! You’re here-I have much use of you! I see you have a team.”

“Yes,General: this is Carol Finn, AndreaHazel, and Andre Grace.”

“Yes,yes! Your government’s counter-terroristspecialists from Homeland Security. Heard many great things about you and how your group’s single handedlydisrupted the Los Angeles threat.”

“Thankyou. I am confused however; we knownothing about this area-why were we called in?”

“You’re thebest. Come let us look at the situationat hand.” All five of them look out atthe holographic map and video feeds of the battlefield. Among them are recovered combat camera imagesfrom the downed F22 Raptors of the clandestinely built rebel drone that shotthem down with such ease…

“I need youand your team to go into the heart of the electromagnetic blackout zone thatwill remain up, and you’re to find the trail of the group that built andlaunched that drone.”

Andrea Hazelspeaks, all 5’10” former model of her; “wasn’t there another operative workingthis?”

“Yes a AgentCooper of the FBI though my own sources indicate that was a cover-I presume himdead from the Chardon incident but if you do link up with him, assist him intracking down the group, otherwise track them down yourselves.”

“Um,” CarolFinn: 5’4, not nearly as attractive. Obviously the brains of the group. “General, I don’t know how useful myself and Andrea are going to be ifwe can’t communicate with Tom and Andre.”

“Iknow. However, we do have our ownlandlines at the 50 kilometer perimeter we laid down, use them as you can findthem, they ought to be where there are company headquarters. Alright Agent Jager: I give you my fullauthority to pull whatever forces you need… can you carry this mission outgiven the situation?”

“If we canpick up the trail, we’ll find her.”

MARIETTA, OHIO

TheCommander of the former Warren Ohio underground base-right underneath thecurrent Federal Fusion Center-gets in a semi-trailer, riding shotgun with areal trucker. He doesn’t know his realname. Didn’t need to. He certainly didn’t know his.

“I do thedriving.” Trucker starts “if there’s aemergency hopefully I’ll still be able to-otherwise, you’ll be doing thedriving, solo. Hope your ID checks outwhen we hit a checkpoint, we’re bound to. Stay quiet, let me do the talking, these cops know me, I’ve been haulingtheir shit for them since well before the war started. Hope the trip’s worth it.”

“So doI.” The Commander watches as the Truckerputs his semi into gear, and they roll off to the North to the interstate, toCleveland hauling a trailer full of ammunition. Whatever was going on was requiring every last mode of transport tosupply all the forces arrayed up there.

BACK ROAD, GEAUGA COUNTY

Kayla comesto, in the front passenger seat-with the fourth copy of the guy she thought wasJesus Christ parking the Chardon cop car she took from a now dead Chardon copin the barely there driveway of a long collapsed farm. He drives the car in the back, parks under aawning. At least he knows that much shethought.

He turns toher. “Yes I really am who you think I ambut don’t want to admit.”

“No. No, no. You’re not doing this. Nottoday.”

“Yes,today. Listen: you need to succeed. The fate of this country, the fate of thisworld depends on you, and what you do.”

“And whywould that possibly be?” There, Kaylathought… Kayla looked into the big, soft, compassionate eyes, feel the love andconcern just washing over her like tidal waves… the neat scars on the wrists…Kayla brushes aside the long, hippie hair to see a jagged line of marks on thebrow. She passes out.

Kayla wakesup-in the driver’s seat, behind a abandoned farm. What a dream. No time for dreams though, and she needs a place to hide out.

Nownormally, Kayla would use a cell phone but with this weird electromagneticeffect going on that wasn’t happening… look around, look around-neighbors! Leaving most of her armament she takes thesilent, selective fire Glock pistol, heads to a neighbor’s home.

Monthsbefore the Geauga County Volunteers left pamphlets all over their area ofoperation and one of those was the protocols for assistance of any Volunteerunder threat or duress, and being a good soldier Kayla knew those byheart-she’s had to use them more than once.

NORTH DAKOTA

A B-52HStratofortress taxis onto the runway, its eight engines spooling up.

Major GlennHiggins, pilot and commander, advances the throttles along with Major AnneDevaraux, the copilot, and the bomber starts to roll down the runway.

CaptainDavid Morris checks the weapon status; his board shows six B-61 nuclearweapons, gravity bombs, not armed but ready.

LieutenantGary Schoeder checks the radio, internal comms, and onboard radar and sensors-amap shows the 200 mile diameter EM blackout field centered around PymatunigLake-warning no radar, nor radio communications possible. There are also map warnings about enemy airactivity from Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan.

SargeantTerry Ray sits in the back, at the tail gunner, checking his four 20mmcannons. Oddly enough not having radarsuddenly makes his position potentially much less anachronistic.

The B-52takes off, slowly accelerating skyward, heads South. Linking up with the strategic bomber are twoF-22 Raptor fighters-Major Albert Anson, and Captain Jerry Tomkins.

MajorHiggins gets on the comm: “This is Major Higgins, we are proceeding asplanned. MALLET is go.”

CHESTERLAND, OHIO

Kayla liesunder a tarp… not the first time today… on a horse-drawn cart full ofhome-grown produce driven by that farmer lady with the SKS westward toChesterland. Two years ago this would bequite anachronistic… not today as they pass a gas station with 25 dollar agallon gasoline.

“Folks inChesterland know me well.” Farmer Ladyrambles on, “my produce is disease and radiation free.”

“Yah, that’simportant these days” Kayla wonders just how much radiation she’s suckeddown. Everyone does. “Y’know, I’m surprised they let you keep thatSKS.”

“Theyhaven’t got this part of the country locked down just yet. Yeah it has that nasty bayonet but its stockRussian. Besides folks in Chesterlandknow me well, and know just how many hungry people are around. Not so many of them would go through me asthey would say, west of the freeway but those folks in Chesterland need myproduce. That’s why I’m still armed. Imagine there’s even parts of Ohio where theystill tolerate armed citizens so long as they’re considered safe.”

Kayla shakesher head… Farmer Lady could sense her doing so. “I was a Volunteer when Sheriff McLellan first formed them, thoughtthings would just collapse. A lot offolks made that bet. A lot of thosefolks lost that bet with their lives, but you know that first hand girly. Don’t worry, you’ll get to your contact, justlet me handle this and could you not point your Glock at me so much?”

How did sheknow Kayla thinks… woman’s no fool that’s for sure.

The horsedrawn cart approaches the outskirts of town-defined by a roadblock manned byGeauga County Sheriffs Deputies and a HUMMV full of Ohio NationalGuardsmen. No mounted machine gun, butall the OPFOR are packing M-4s.

“God’s sakekeep quiet girl.” Farmer Lady advancesto the roadblock. The Geauga CountyDeputy, a Sargeant, gives a halt gesture, and she complies.

“I’d askwhat your business is, but I already know what that would be.”

“And I’llask if I can be on my way, but you’ll search my horse and buggy anyway. Got nothing to hide.”

“Ma’am Iknow what you got, and you’d best be advised to keep it out of sight today-someserious craziness is going down.”

“InChardon. I heard. I couldn’t help but hear.”

“Theredefinetly was an incident. They’retrying to piece together what happened-literally-and it looks like a suicidebomber-“

“-Noway! Suicide bombers-in America?!” Farmer Lady shakes her head in shock anddespair. That Sheriff’s Deputy was nofool, and this one honestly made rank by not being one.

“I washoping you wouldn’t have approved… things are going to get a lot scarier-I’dhide that SKS very well when you get home, they’ll be doing sweeps.”

“What’sgoing on? Why don’t the TV and radiowork?”

“I suspectit has something to do with what happened in Chardon, and Pymatunig Lake a fewdays ago.”

“That aircrash?”

“NoMa’am. That was rebel activity.” Farmer Lady took a breath… that’s why KaylaMiller, Pymatunig Militia was in her cart, in the secret compartment…. Sheshould never have answered the door.

“Iappreciate the word Deputy. But I canonly get these goods to town.”

“After wesearch” to the other Deputy and Guardsmen “I’ll search this one myself.” The Deputy Sargeant unfurls the tarp sees theproduce… doesn’t see the hidden compartment, under the seat…

…Kayla aimsat the Deputy Sargeant-no he doesn’t look the fool. Shit fuck shit fuck shit!

…DeputySargeant regards the hidden compartment, and it’s a well crafted hide… a yearof open warfare has given him a well developed sense of danger… he pulls thetarp over the Farmer Lady’s goods, secures it. He goes to Farmer Lady with some advice “I’d lay a lot lower abouteverything.”

“I do tryDeputy.”

“Takecare. Let her through!” The HUMMV gets moved aside, and the FarmerLady with the horse drawn cart goes through.

Chesterlandis a small Ohio town built up from a crossroad, mostly built in the west butthe Farmer Lady strolls the horse through the car-free intersection toREGGIE’S, a family restaurant that’s somehow been able to hold on. She guides her cart into the back, gets offand knocks.

ReggieJones: mid 50’s, clothes a bit baggy on him suggesting he had a bit of a gutopens, smiles. “Ah, you’re early. Good thing you’re early, I was actuallyrunning out of food.”

“…Got apackage for you, personally.” FarmerLady was not so cheery.

“Better giveit to me right away then.” Farmer Ladypulls back the tarp, opens the hidden compartment and Kayla Miller cautiouslygets up. Reggie motions for her to enterand she does just that; Farmer Lady lifting a massive duffel bag with Kayla’sM-4, M-14, and M-240 and gear and bringing it in with her.

CHARDON, OHIO

Flyingoverhead, a UH60 Blackhawk approaches a cleared space near the devastated eastside of Chardon; the fires are out, now there’s burnt houses, burnt vehicles,burnt bodies. Soldiers and investigatorsfrom everywhere from Chardon to NATO Command swarm the battlefield, takingmeasurments.

The UH60lands, and Tom Jager, Carol Finn, Andrea Hazel, and Andre Grace step out withfour masked operators of indeterminate service and rank. Guards. Muscle.

All lookaround; a NATO official, a Colonel from Great Britain approaches.

“ColonelMiles Davidson, British Army.”

Tom stepsforward; “Tom Jager, this is my team. Ihave authorization from General Warburg to act under his full authorityhere-what happened?” Andrea Hazel stepsforward, hands the documentation to the British Colonel.

“Ah,good. Well, that’s about the only goodthing-lost one of my tank crews today from that bomb blast, took out a wholeplatoon of infantry, 60 or so blueshirts-sorry, TSA agents-and several othersuspect vehicles. Then we had a bit of abattle with my other Challenger, and then some flyboys decided to make certainany insurgents got perished to the south of here.”

Tom Jagerand his team look to the west, see the bomb blast, the flattened devastation,then the south and see five bodies-four militia and one man in a black leatherjacket.

“Any ID onthem?”

“The terrson the road got turned into mush, maybe we can get DNA. The two other wankers over there are ID’d asDave Getz, Sargeant, US Army-deserter. The boffin at the end is Chris Bernard, student, MIT but he dropped outat the beginning of your latest civil war.”

“Bet he’sbehind the drone-did you find any plans, flash drives?”

“No.”

“Damn. What about the man in all black?”

“Agent BillCooper, FBI sir. Died taking them down Ibelieve.”

“Let’s takea look” Tom Jager leads his crew over to Agent Cooper’s body… yeah it’shim.

Andre speaksup; “looks like he took about 10 rifle hits after he went down.”

“Plans aremissing from Bernard as well” Andrea is over by Chris Bernard’s body.

“There’s oneleft and that person has the drone plans. Any reports from local law enforcement Colonel?”

“Beg yourpardon Sir, but we’re still in the process of sorting out just whathappened. I’ll get a vehicle myself-thisbloody electromagnetic blackout, whose bloody ideal was it?!”

“Cleverbunch.” Andrea looks around; a pair ofHUMMVs approaches, the Colonel getting out of the lead. “Just had a chat with the town constable; oneof their vehicles was taken, the officer killed and his weapons stripped fromhim-it was reported going southwest.”

“-GotCooper’s-Bolo’s Toughbook!” Carol comesrunning, and joins Tom and his team in the HUMMVs and they spin out of thebattlefield, headed Southwest.

In the lead,Carol has a good question: “Tom, how are we going to search for a Chardonpolice cruiser when we have no communications?”

“Iknow. We’ll just have to go back and forth.” Tom brakes the HUMMV-“COLONEL DAVIDSON, CANYOU GET MY CHOPPER IN THE AIR?”

“I’LL SPOTYOU FROM THE AIR MYSELF!” ColonelDavidson runs to Tom’s Blackhawk and seconds later it takes off as Jager’s teamheads southwest.

KaylaMiller’s in the back storage room/office helping with her one good arm helpsReggie Jones to help stock up the Farmer Lady’s produce.

Sheriff JohnMcLellan-former Sheriff-walks across the street to shopping mall, to what was asupermarket-now a daily flea market. Heapproaches the front entrance; two huge Guards nod him through and go throughJohn McLellan does…

Asupermarket is a big open space with linoleum floors and flourescentlighting-but without a tenant to pay the electric bill the power comes from aseries of ad hoc generators, windmills, solar panels on the roof, the wiringcrudely plugged into the lighting.

The shelvesare mostly gone-save for those salvaged for walls or use by vendors. There are a lot of vendors-everyone from fulltime dealers to desperate families offering what spare produce they sold orparts or, if you ask, other riskier things like guns, gun parts, ammunition. Most of the things for sale are commonhousehold items-about all of which gather dust. A few vendors sell CDs of illegal movies, copies of web sites but havemost of their items being copied DVD movies.

JohnMcLellan approaches a fully equipped stall; filled with old memorabilia, somejewelry, how to books, hand crafted crossbows and bows, walking sticks, commonauto parts like lamps, spark plugs. TheVendor sits behind a glass display case; about 40, full beard getting pepperedwith grey, Jewish, stocky and strong. “Afternoon, John.”

“Avrim” Johnreplies “I need an out, for a girl.”

“Oh. That’s not going to be easy. Not at all.” Avrim shakes his head, in a practiced act.

“Iknow.” Yeah, John knows a negotiation’sgoing to be tough with this one. “If Ithought I could do it myself, I would.”

“Go thereand orbit we’ll be there in a few minutes!” Tom Jager runs back to the HMMV gets in and speeds along the back roads…

…Few minuteslater, Tom Jager’s HMMV arrives at the abandoned farm… right when the FarmerLady arrives with her horse drawn cart.

Andre looksat her… “Think she knows something?”

“Got ablowtorch?” Tom jokes. He gets out with Andre; Carol and Andrea staybehind, being more intelligence analysts than frontline agents. They approach Farmer Lady, G36 5.56 carbinesaimed at her. “GET DOWN FROM THE CARTRIGHT NOW! RIGHT NOW!” The Blackhawk orbits overhead, a side mountedM240 aimed at the Farmer Lady.

Farmer Ladyregards the situation; two highly trained, well armed government agents withautomatic weapons aimed at her, a helicopter with a machine gun aimed at heroverhead… some things are best not stretched out. She smiles.

“Oh Fatherin Heaven-“ Farmer Lady whips out her SKS carbine snap shoots at Andre and putsa round through his skull! She startsaiming for Tom…

“NO!” Tom Jager hoses Farmer Lady, peppering herwith high velocity 5.56mm, the orbiting Blackhawk joining in with the M240,turning her into bloody mush.

“FUCK!” Tom kneels down by Andre-now dead… where’sthe nearest fucking town?!”

REGGIE’S

KaylaMiller’s chowing down on a plate full of spaghetti, another plate of garlicbread, and a coke. John McLellan returnswith Avrim Heinz, with Reggie at the door. “Mhrey” Kayla mumbles through a mouth full of spaghetti and bread.

“Chew andswallow, dear.” Reggie can only look atKayla, he’s seen a lot of hungry people the past couple years. Kayla chews, swallows, takes a swig of coke,then reluctantly turns towards her benefactors. “Sorry. Your food’s really good.”

“Kayla” Johnstarts, “this is Avrim Heinz; he’s going to get you to where you need going.”

“Thanks. Hi. Where’s that?”

Avrimanswers, “that’s what we need to talk about now.”

“Ah.”

“We weretalking a bit earlier, and Avrim thinks it would be best to get to the FreeStates.”

“That’s ano-brainer.”

“Ah, youwould think!”

Kayla givesAvrim Heinz a good quick look. “You haveobjections to going to Michigan… yeah, I can see how you would.”

“Goodgirl. You’re smart-I think we’ll getalong.” Avrim approaches; “I work forthe State of Israel.”

“That’sstill around?!”

“Yes. I won’t go into details at this time, savethat we need your unit’s drone plans as much as your fellow countrymen. As for Michigan, they don’t have theresources to exploit this technology anyway, they can barely keep themselves inbullets and fuel. I want to head furtherwest-Texas, Montana, Zion, Jefferson.”

“That’sgoing to be quite an adventure getting there” Kayla thinks it through, easierto do when you’re not having hunger dominate your thoughts “they sending a lotof shit this way and I’m sure most of it’s not yet here.”

“Aw holdon! What obligation would you have toget me outta here if I just give you the plans now?”

“Goodpoint.” Reggie nods.

Avrim setsthe netbook down at the desk, “I’ll get you to the Free States Kayla. You have my word, and I’m giving that word toyou on account of how your government fucking left us flapping in the windduring our war! You destroying yourgovenrment is justice for what they’ve failed to do for us!”

Kayla getsout the flash drive with the plans, “since you put it that way.”

Tom Jagerand his team arrive at the outskirts of town, at that roadblock Farmer Ladywent through a few hours ago. Tom getsout, goes straight for the Deputy Sargeant. “My name’s Tom Jager, I’m with the federal government and I’m going toneed you and your mens assistance in searching this town for insurrectionists.”

The Sargeantthought fast-ANY hesitation or calculation and this serious looking fed wouldmake his worst nightmares come to frightening reality… “whatever you want,Sir.”

“Good. I have a Blackhawk and a platoon of Britishmechanized infantry coming this way. When they get here, redeploy to the south, west, and north and we’llsqueeze them out. We’re going door todoor and we’re not stopping until we get what we came for! Understand?”

“YesSir.” Nothing else for the Sheriff’sDeputy to do but to obey… right?

“Comeon!” Tom Jager gestures his team tofollow him and they enter Reggie’s “I’m making this my command post!”

In the backof Reggie’s, Kayla finishes up her meal; John McLellan finishes making a copyof the drone plans for his own use, when they both hear the commotion from thedining room. They both go toinvestigate…

Tom Jager,Carol, Andrea and his troops burst in, loud and proudly obnoxious as only fedscan.

“Thisrestaurant is now under federal control!” Tom Jager waves his badge overhead, Sig Saur in the other hand,“leavenow-right fucking now!” Tom gives it athought then shoots a customer dead-just to make an example “I FUCKING MEANIT!”

The patronsstream out quietly, not wanting to join that unfortunate American. “Get rid of this body, and get me set up.”

In the backroom Kayla and John look at each other-no words are needed. Kayla hands the M-4 with chest rig full ofloaded magazines to John as Kayla gets out her suppressed Glock 18 machinepistol, dials the selector to full auto. She nods to John-he’ll head this, it’s his town, his county.

Kayla andJohn creep up to the door, then burst through….

Carol andAndrea are in the center, setting up their computers, with Tom Jager to theleft, his eight troops to the right-all of them look as a bearded older man anda young lady burst through.

Kayla worksthe right, going to the left-she tips the Glock 18 gangsta style to the leftand rips full auto, letting the recoil carry the machine pistol from right toleft, going for the groin.

JohnMcLellan aims the M-4 at Tom Jager but decades in covert ops helps him; helands backwards onto the floor, aims his Sig Saur at John as he fires!

Carol andAndrea both push the table towards the threat.

Kayla’sGlock 18 runs dry-she grasps for a second 33 round magazine as she ejects thefirst, letting it hit the ground.

Tom JagerFIRES pegging John McLellan in the legs, gut and shoulder as he lands andshoots. John McLellan’s buckedbackwards.

Kayla sendsthe slide forward. Still on full autoshe aims at Tom Jager…

…Tom rollsout of the way…

Kayla firesa burst; Tom’s reactions just enough to avoid the five round burst. She goes left behind the counter.

“Carol,Andrea-get outta here and get help-NOW!” Carol and Andrea have no problem obeying Tom and scamper out of therestaurant. Tom grabs a M-4 off one ofhis wounded soldiers and SPRAYS the counter Kayla’s hiding behind, the 5.56filling the air with splinters.

Kayla on theground, she crawls fast to the back room as Tom’s M-4 runs dry. He transistions back to the Sig Saur as shedisappears into the back office.

Kaylaswitches back to semi auto, stuffs the Glock and grabs her M-14.

Reggie peekshis head out from the Kitchen-“Get back Reggie!” Kayla warns!

Tom Jagerputs a round from his Sig into Reggie’s head. He drops down, dead. Kaylascreams!

Tom grabs afragmentation grenade off another of his wounded soldiers pulls the pin, letsthe spool fly, then chucks it into the back then loads a fresh magazine intothe M-4.

The grenadeEXPLODES!

Tom Jagerrises with the M-4, charges forward with maximum aggression…

…when AvrimHeinz charges into the restaurant with an equal amount of aggression-with hisnew M240 general purpose machine gun ….

Tom turns,sees the new threat-big man with belt fed. He ducks for concealment behind the counter…

Avrim cutsloose; he shreds the counter with a long burst of 7.62 then turns on thewounded soldiers and finishes them off.

“KAYLA!”

Kayla is inthe back room, and is stunned; the shrapnel embedding in the walls but nothitting her, though the concussion sure as hell did. “Yeah.”

Kayla getsup, staggers, takes her Glock, resets to full auto, comes out and turns left tothe counter…

Tom Jagersprays wildly, sending both Kayla and Avrim ducking for cover. He empties it in their general direction,then draws his Sig Saur shoots out a surviving window pane and dives out of therestaurant.

Avrim andKayla recover. “What the fuck?!”

“We got toget out of here Kayla, before we’re trapped!”

A rumble isheard from outside…

Avrim andKayla look to see four British Warrior infantry fighting vehicles takepositions outside the restaurant, 30mm chain guns turned at them, Britishsoldiers disgorged from the rear-seven each to form a 28 man execution squad.

Tom Jagertakes position behind one of the armored vehicles, his own assault rifle inhand. Miles Davidson combat crouchesover, L85 bullpup rifle in hand “I need to tell you we are deployed, Sir?”

“Get some ofyour troops around the sides of this building, cover the rear exit. I need a megaphone.”

“Right. Soldier!” Colonel Davidson addresses the Commander of the Warrior they were shelteringbehind “fetch us a corded mike if you would.”

“YesSir!” The Commander dives back in, thenproduces a corded phone, hands it to the Colonel who hands it to TomJager. “Kayla Miller, this is TomJager-it’s over! Come out and I willpersonally see to it you’re treated well.”

From insideReggies, Kayla and Avrim hear Tom Jager. “I respect you and your companion as warriors and as Americans. This country’s been torn apart enough by thiswar… hasn’t there been enough death?”

Avrim turnsto Kayla who simply stares at Tom Jager, almost catatonic. “I’m afraid he’s right Kayla. Listen: I’m with Mossad. My governmentcan insure your safety and well being. Ihave diplomatic status as well, so I can get these drone plans out, andeventually to your compatriots in the Free States. …Let me talk to this Jager fellow, and maybeI can talk him into letting you go with me. I’ll tell them something and maybe you won’t even be in their custody.”

Avrim gentlyturns Kayla to face him, “we get out of here, we can go anywhere-you andme. My government can send you anywherein the world you want. Europe, theCarribean, wherever.”

Kayla staresback at him, not quite there… “Kayla, do this with me and if you want you couldeven come back to America. Live to fightanother day-but the key to that is staying alive!”

Avrimexhales in relief. He embraces, hugsKayla, kisses her on her forehead. OutsideJager and Col. Davidson look at each other in digust “bloody balls up this hasturned into I tell you!”

Inside,Avrim was watching, and smiles at Tom’s reaction “I’M COMING JAGER!” He sets the M240 down as well as the packs ofbelted ammunition. He turns to Kayla“see girl, I will get you out of this and out of here. I know this Jager fellow-he will keep hisword when he has to.” And with thatAvrim Heinz steps outside, walks toward the British armored vehicles.

Tom Jageradvances, striding to the midpoint between his forces and the restaurant likethe proverbial predator he is. They meetup, facing off.

The infantrystop firing, the first Warrior starts firing it’s main armament, a 30mm chaingun BOOMBOOMBOOM-as Davidson rips the now deceased commander aside “STOP BLOODYFIRING THOSE BUGGERS GOT A HOSTAGE!” TheGunner inside looks up angrily at his Commanding Officer, but does stopshooting up the restaurant.

The rest ofthe Warriors stand down, as do the British Infantry. Andrea and Carol look on, helpless as theMossad Agent has Tom Jager.

Coordinators directpeople-every one pulling some kind of cart or luggage and they stream in,directed smoothly down the street, taking over their designated spot.

ACoordinator guides Kayla, the Rapper and the DJ to their designated spot; likea well trained fighting force the three set up a dance floor, turntable,speakers, generator, tent, cooler filled with food and drink. Kayla kicks off her shoes. She’s in a flowing hippie like dress.

“Aw no, holdup girl I don’t want people to see knarly black feet!”

“We gotsenough hippies in here K.”

“That’s ouraudience, yo. Besides get in the spiritof things. Let’s get started gentlemen.”

DJ switcheson the generator, and there’s an enclosure designed to soak up engine noise andvibration. Equipment checks are quicklydone and the Rapper goes to grab his mike as Kayla stretches…

…Overhead asmall helicopter drone scans the Occupy Wall Street, and along with all thecity-installed cameras and sensors feeds the video back to…

…a MobileCommand Center; a huge trailer packed with monitors and Officers monitoringthem. The white shirted NYPD Commanderand a Representative from Homeland Security…

“Wow.”

“Yeah; theyreally came out of nowhere this time! Out from the streets and set up in three minutes, tops. They said their coordinators were on the ballbut fuck me!”

In theCommand Center, the Homeland Security Representative and NYPD On Site Commanderlook at each other…. This will have to wait until they can bag this bitchwithout backup.

OWS: It’safter Midnight; Kayla Miller has been dancing all day and all night. Utterly exhausted.

“Call it aday, girl. Go on back to headquartersan’ get some real bed time girl. Don’tworry; it be my turn tomorrow-“

In aninterrogation room he Homeland Security Representative has Kayla tied to ainterrogation chair, hair greasy, naked, dirty, bags under her eyes. A NYPD Detective stands over her and whenevershe starts to nod off to sleep-WHACK! Kayla gets open hand hit in the face. She cries, and the two government officials laugh.

TheRepresentative has a TV set and turns it on for Kayla; it’s a feed from Occupy Wall Street andthey’re all chanting “WHERE’S KAYLA MILLER?!” Over and over and over.

…The NewsCrews are ushered out of the area by NYPD-at gunpoint…

“Yeah Kayla,they’re wondering where you’re at. Let’slet them find out.” Rep. gets on a cellphone, speed dials, “do it.” He hangsup, turns, gets behind.

They allwatch as tear gas cannisters and percussion grenades EXPLODE among the OWSprotesters. Lines of NYPD with riotshotguns open up on the crowd with rubber rounds-dozens of Americans fallinstantly, gravely injured, maybe dead.

The reststart to run or seek shelter; those that run only run up against anotherphalanx of Riot Cops who beat them back into Wall St. with batons and a LRADturned up to a horrific SCREECH… back to the full volleys of rubber buckshot,percussion grenades, tear gas. Thosethat try to gain entry into varying buildings find they’re locked-those thatdesperately try to break in are SHOT with live ammo by building security.

…TheCoordinators are careful to stand to the side-a door opens and a NYPD WhiteShirt Officer motions them inside, and they go in.

That is whateveryone in the interrogation room sees. The government men smile, chuckle. Kayla is in a state of horror beyond horror-beyond even her own ordealas the Detective reaches from behind and starts sexually assaulting herbreasts.

The door opens,and Tom Jager steps forward, “Tom Jager-this my girl?”

Treesabound. In the parking lot, Brian Millerawaits by his Ford truck as two typical black government SUVs pull up; armedSWAT-like agents jump out, M4’s at the ready. Overhead a low flying drone buzzes about. The SWAT agents aim at Brian Miller.

“Easy fellasI’m alone and unarmed. As agreed.”

Someone inone of the SUVs calls out: “He’s alone!”

“Let’s getthis over with then…” that voice emerges: some human robot in a suit who pullsout a frail, shaking figure wrapped in a blanket, barefoot-her toenails haven’tbeen clipped in many months. He yanksthe blanket away and a naked, emaciated, scarred, utterly filthy Kayla Millertumbles to the ground. “Governmentproperty” the suit states.

“KAYLA!” Brian Miller rushes to her, stripping off hiscoat and covering his daughter. “Youdidn’t have to do that!”

“You’retelling us what we can’t do Mr. Miller? We held up our end of the agreement-you have your daughter back.”

Outside, theBritish infantry start to rush-“HE AIN’T DEAD YET, BUT I’LL KILL THIS JACKBAUER PUNK ASS WANNABEE, MOTHERFUCKERS!” Kayla stares down the soldiers and she can hear Col. Davidson “BACKUP! BACK UP ALREADY!”

Kaylacrouches down, to face Tom Jager. “I waswondering why I wanted to shoot you so particularly bad, but I had to suppressa lot of yo’ shit just to start functioning again.” She snorts, “I see you paralyzed-good. Now, I want you to witness this...”

Kaylaunslings her M14 looks through the scope, sees Andrea and Carol together abouta hundred yards away by a Geauga County Sheriff’s SWAT vehicle, out in theopen, running to the scene and FFBAP-FFBAP-SHOOTS them both in the head, dead.

All the copsand British infantry OPEN FIRE again and Kayla and Avrim duck to the floor asthey’re covered in more Reggie’s debris-with Kayla laughing. The firing dies down for magazine changes andshe rises, straining to prop flopping Tom Jager up: “I WILL KILL ANYONE ELSE WHO FUCKING TRIESRUSHING US-THEM TO BITCHES WAS AN EXAMPLE, YO!”

The policeand NATO military forces stop shooting. Colonel Miles Davidson gets on the speaker “MA’AM, WE CANNOT NEGOTIATEIF YOU KEEP SHOOTING AT US!”

“BLOW IT OUTYO’ FUCKING HALF INCH DICK-INBRED FISH N’ CHIPS EATIN’ YUCKMOUTH MUTHAFUCKA!”

A rocketstreaks towards the IFV and BLOWS it apart! A second rocket BLOWS UP the Warrior IFV with Davidson along with it.

At ashuttered Denny’s two blocks further away, Doug Heemeyer has a M40 sniper riflebut that’s aside as he assists loading a MG42 in the hands of Adam Bent. He cocks the weapon, aims-Doug knocks downthe board…

A MG42 opensup with it’s ZZZZZZRRRP! Sends about ahundred fifty rounds at the cops and infantry, shredding through them!

Theremaining two Warrior IFV’S rapidly turn about. They charge toward the enemy, turrents swivel about, and center on theflea market-and cut loose with 30mm autocannon fire!

The MG42sends another burst at the armored fighting vehicles, tinking off the armor andhitting softer components like grenade launchers, sensors.

SabineLeersen aims her M14 at the Warrior looking for the soft points andshoots. She picks at the optics, viewingports, grenade launchers and other weak points of the British light armor; theypop smoke to obscure themselves and FIRE autocannon through, but not accuratelyas the snipers and machine gunners have obviously damaged their thermalimagers…

Kaylawatches with glee as the NATO forces are engaged by friendly parties unknown toher-which become known as that Deputy Sargeant enters…

Flash message, another mistrial has been declared today in the Dyer trial.

Apparently the prosecutor's office had some verifiably blatantly inappropriate contact with the jury pool to the point that a couple of jurors brought it up during jury selection. The matter would normally be a pretty serious ethics violation which could result in disbarment of the order-giver, so they are putting it off on one of the secretaries in the DA's office. The Judge has now declared a mistrial.

Also, now being reported by a reliable source, there was some issue with Dyer being denied some food items at the jail, asking for the food, then when being denied, said he would refuse the restricted diet someone had ordered him to be given. That was instantly declared a "hunger strike" and he was attacked by deputies for "resisting". Not sure if it was a force feeding of the pourridge thing or what, but he was apparently punched and tazed.

From what I gather, it was done on "orders" but the first deputy to punch him had once been a friend and co-worker of Dyer, someone saw that the deputy was "going light" in punching Dyer (like faking the beating I guess) and then stepped in with a tazer and shocked Dyer several times. We will be attempting to get the names of the people involved, but generally speaking, the prosecutor is the primary authority in a case involving restricted conditions of pretrial confinement, with the chain of command functionally going to a jail commander then a shift supervisor, although larger departments will also have a case officer within the department who orchestrates these things semi-officially in order to give the prosecutor some level of personal plausible deniability.

Trial date is apparently being reset for some point in April.

Coordination on our end of this is pretty good right now, much better than at previous trials, we have people on the ground observing things pretty closely at the moment.

DUNCAN, Okla. – Shortly after testimony started today in the trial of Charles Dyer, accused of sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl, the judge declared a mistrial.

The reason? The judge ruled that the district attorney's office made inappropriate contact with a few of the jurors. The DA had sent a survey to them last week asking their opinions on how a previous case they had been chosen for was conducted, which is a standard procedure.

Even though the content had nothing to do with the dyer case, the judge felt it could "potentially" impact the jurors.

The surveys are normally sent after the jury term ends, not during it. And this impropriety became known at the end of the first break around 10:45 a.m. today. When court reconvened after lunch, Dyer's attorney asked for a mistrial and the judge granted his request.

Today, around 3 p.m., you could see prosecutors and defense attorneys lugging their boxes full of case files out of the courtroom and just hours after they had delivered opening arguments and began hearing testimony.

During the first break, someone informed the judge that members sitting on Dyer's trial had received mail from the Stephens County DA's Office. The judge told the courtroom, a staff member mailed the letters to 39 jurors on Jan. 20, who had sat on three jury trials last week. Now, two of them are on Dyer's panel and one as an alternate.

The judge also said he did not think the content of the letters and surveys pertained to Dyer's sexual abuse trial, but that in the end it could potentially sway the jury.

The judge stressed it was not the jury's fault, and that this should not have happened. And the prosecutors themselves did not know about the mishap until this morning. In fact, prosecutors had just started questioning their first witness, the mother of the alleged victim, when the trial the request for a mistrial was set in motion.

Now this is the second mistrial on the same charge for Dyer. The previous one came in April, when the jury was deadlocked and unable to reach a verdict. Prosecutors have already set the date for yet another re-trial. This one is scheduled for April 16.

I’m not minimizing the importance of either fight: it’s true that SOPA (like the NDAA) would codify these radical powers further and even expand them beyond what the U.S. Government already wields (regarding SOPA’s unique provisions, see Julian Sanchez’s typically thorough analysis). But the defining power that had everyone so up in arms about SOPA — shutting down websites with no trial — is one that already exists in quite a robust form, as any thwarted visitors to Megaupload will discover. There are two points worth making about all of this:
(1) It’s wildly under-appreciated how unrestrained is the Government’s power to do what it wants, and how little effect these debates over various proposed laws have on that power. Contrary to how it was portrayed, the Obama administration’s threatened veto of the NDAA rested largely on the assertion that they did not need a law vesting them with indefinite detention powers because they already have full power to detain people without a trial: not because any actual law expressly vested that power, but because the Bush and Obama DOJs both claimed the 2001 AUMF silently (“implicitly”) authorized it and deferential courts have largely acquiesced to that claim. Thus, Obama argued about indefinite detention in his NDAA veto threat that “the authorities codified in this section already exist” and therefore “the Administration does not believe codification is necessary,” and in his Signing Statement the President similarly asserted that “the executive branch already has the authority to detain in military custody” accused Terrorists “and as Commander in Chief I have directed the military to do so where appropriate.” In other words: we don’t need any law expressly stating that we can imprison people without charges: we do it when we want without that law.
That’s more or less what happened with the SOPA fight. It’s true that website-seizures-without-trials are not quite as lawless as indefinite detentions, since there are actual statutes conferring this power. But it nonetheless sends a very clear message when citizens celebrate a rare victory in denying the Government a power it seeks — the power to shut down websites without a trial — only for the Government to turn around the very next day and shut down one of the world’s largest and best-known sites. Whether intended or not, the message is unmistakable: Congratulations, citizens, on your cute little “democracy” victory in denying us the power to shut down websites without a trial: we’re now going to shut down one of your most popular websites without a trial.
(2) The U.S. really is a society that simply no longer believes in due process: once the defining feature of American freedom that is now scorned as some sort of fringe, radical, academic doctrine. That is not hyperbole. Supporters of both political parties endorse, or at least tolerate, all manner of government punishment without so much as the pretense of a trial, based solely on government accusation: imprisonment for life, renditions to other countries, even assassinations of their fellow citizens. Simply uttering the word Terrorist, without proving it, is sufficient. And now here is Megaupload being completely destroyed — its website shuttered, its assets seized, ongoing business rendered impossible — based solely on the unproven accusation of Piracy.

After Newt Gingrich’s stunning victory in the South Carolina Republican primaries on Saturday, there are now questions surrounding the vote counting process that took place Saturday night.

Indeed, some individuals who witnessed the actual certification of the vote are beginning to question whether or not the outcome is a result of clever campaigning, or that of voter fraud.

Although no one is pointing fingers at the Gingrich campaign, or any other campaign at this point, the anomalies that are arising from the accounts of eyewitnesses call into question the certainty and the credibility of the final count in South Carolina.

At this time, the most serious questions are centered around the precincts in Pickens County. It was in this precinct that Chris Lawton, representing the Paul campaign, came to the Pickens County elections office to witness the vote certification and noticed a series of situations that were either in direct opposition to State voting laws, or, at the very least, highly questionable.

Mr. Lawton stated to me that he arrived at the Pickens County elections office around 7:10 pm, where he was then ushered into the County Council chambers. Mr. Lawton claims he was told that he had to remain in this area and watch the vote tabulation on the projector in the council chambers, not in the room where the actual counting was taking place.

However, Lawton noticed that, even as he arrived, the projector was displaying 726 -746 votes which were broken down by candidates. He says he then inquired as to where these votes came from and was told that the votes were tabulated at 9:00 am that day and as mail came in. He claims he was then instructed that he could not be in a secure area.

Eventually, he stated, he gathered himself together and decided to assert himself as per his rights to witness the count personally under State law. He says, “[They were] very unfriendly and appeared agitated at my presence. When I got my wits I went back and declared State law allowed me to witness all aspects of this process. I was told there was little space and [to] stand out of the way and not be talking on the phone.”

Mr. Lawton then states that at 8:00 pm a precinct which he believes to be Prater’s Creek came into the office without the “zero” tape; the device that shows the voting machines were started at a vote count of zero. Without the “zero” tape, there is no certainty that the voting machines did not begin operation loaded with votes for specific candidates, a very serious issue to say the least.

Mr. Lawton states that, at 8:02 pm, the Paul campaign called the elections office and was hung up on and given no information regarding the vote-counting process.

At 8:05 pm, Mr. Lawton claims that a box of ballots arrived (Box 216) which he believes were also from Prater’s Creek. This box had a broken security seal. When Lawton asked for the serial number of the machine that these ballots came from, he says he was told to wait.

Yet these were not the only ballots to come back unsecured. According to Lawton, the discs containing the Powdersville District 2 ballots arrived being carried by a poll worker. These discs were not only missing a seal, but were being carried in a personal folder inside the worker’s left pocket.

Shortly after a Deputy from the Pickens County Sheriff’s office arrived (as a result of the campaign being hung up on) Lawton claims that around 8:55 pm, a lady from Clemson Precinct 1 stated that the boxes and machines for this precinct were actually dropped off at another precinct – Stone Church at University Baptist Church in Clemson.

Lawton says that he asked when the machines and ballots would arrive at the correct precinct and was told that the votes had already been tabulated and would be coming in later. He claims that he was then told, later on, that the machines and ballots would be stored at the church. Lawton says that he never found out where the ballots and machines ended up before he departed his precinct Saturday night.

At 9:10 pm, Lawton claims he was given the serial number for the first box of ballots that arrived with a broken seal – Box 216 (Serial # V5124783).

At 9:30 pm, Lawton says he left the precinct with the tabulations and names of the county poll workers.

Yet Pickens County is not the only location where the method of counting votes is questionable.

In Florence County, for instance, a confidential source informed me that the vote certification was seriously flawed and essentially conducted in secret. Those individuals who came to witness the certification were not allowed into the room where the votes were being tallied and could only view the process through a glass window.

The process itself was conducted behind closed doors and witnesses could only view individuals working on computers (there were no paper ballots) – but they were unable to actually see what was on the computers themselves. Because the vote counting took place in a closed room, there was no sound available to any of the witnesses either. Only a computer screen tacked onto the wall was available for witnesses in order to view what was allegedly happening on the computers in the next room.

This is particularly concerning since the South Carolina State Constitution states that, while votes are to be cast in secret, they are to be counted in public.

It is important to note that, at no time, did the witnesses have access to the room in which the ballots were being counted to either corroborate or contest the process in Florence. There was no way for them to even ask questions regarding the vote counting.

As the source stated, “The system is designed so that just a few people have access to the votes and only a few people know what those votes actually are.”

The issue of lack of access granted to vote count witnesses seems to be a trend all across South Carolina.

In addition, Florence County also reported some rather strange voting machine failure as well. Within the first hour of voting, some of the machines in the Florence 35 District began to experience technical failures, forcing the precinct to move to paper ballots. The technical failures were related to the PEB (Personal Electronic Ballot), an external memory device that activates the voting machine and summarizes data from the machine for tabulation at the end of the day.

Interestingly enough, in South Carolina, all election results are transmitted through a Spanish owned company, Scytl/SOE Software, before they are reported to the public. This company’s software has been implicated in voter fraud in the past when, in Broward County, Florida, a candidate who had been winning the election was entirely vaporized in mid-count. Hillsborough County, Florida and Dallas County, Texas also had votes disappear as a result of the Scytl/SOE Software.

Of course, the software is not the only issue with South Carolina vote counting that could point to fraud. As Bev Harris, an elections and vote fraud expert, writes on her website BlackBoxVoting.com,

Well, you have to put an asterisk alongside “the right results” because in South Carolina you get a two-fer. Results could be incorrect at either end of the pipeline - - from the ES&S iVotronic paperless touchscreen voting machines, which have a history of incorrect totals, or from the private results reporting firm Scytl/SOE Software, which has centralized control over what gets reported.

She also writes “There is only one way to immediately find out whether Scytl/SOE reported the right results*, and that is for members of the public to capture evidence of reported precinct results when polls close tonight.” Essentially, Harris is echoing the sentiment of the source quoted earlier who stated that the system is not geared toward transparency in vote counting.

Neverthless, the ES&S iVotronic vote machines have had quite a history of fraud themselves, even being the subject of a special report by Dan Rather in 2001.

Yet, even putting aside the Scytl/SOE Software and ES&S voting machines, vote fraud would still be a major issue in South Carolina.

For instance, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson recently sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice which was dated Thursday, January 19, 2012, and contained details of voter fraud in South Carolina. The analysis of the fraud was conducted by the Department of Motor Vehicles and was sent to U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles.

As reported by the Associated Press and FOX News, “In a letter dated Thursday, Wilson says the analysis found 953 ballots cast by voters listed as dead. In 71 percent of those cases, ballots were cast between two months and 76 months after the people died. That means they ‘voted’ up to 6 1/3 years after their death.”

Even on the day of the primary itself, fraud was documented by the State Attorney General’s office. It was reported by WTOC Channel 11 on January 21st 2012, that at least 953 votes had been cast by people who were listed as dead. SLED has been asked to investigate.

It is an unfortunate reality that election fraud has become commonplace in every state in the Union and South Carolina is no exception. Although, at this time, it is unknown to what extent fraud has been committed in South Carolina or which campaign was hurt the most, one thing is for sure – whenever there is vote fraud, the inevitable losers will always be the voters.

Practice the Simple Things HARD, and the hard things become simple. I can't remember which of my buddies has that as part of his signature line, but it is largely true. SF, Rangers, SEALs don't really train on anything different than a regular Soldier or Marine, they just train on the basics until they never get it wrong.

So what does this have to do with "A Nation of Riflemen?" Well first is that a nation of Riflemen is NOT a National Army. The vaunted "Hunters of Wisconsin" being the whatever largest Army in the world is pure horse crap. Yes they can shoot, and yes there is potential there, but it takes more than a rifle and the ability to shoot it to make an Army. It is easier to teach a Soldier to shoot than it is to teach a shooter to soldier. I'm not going to say that shooters don't have the skills to provide a credible threat against a modern miltary force, just that if you can't transition your INDIVIDUAL skills into a TEAM EFFORT then you are likely to get destroyed by those who can. As a historical note, the Boers were excellent at combining their individual skills into a group effort.

As a recent historical example the Taliban has been fighting US Forces for over a decade now. Individually they are fine warriors. Collectively they fail to add up to a sum greater than its individual parts. While the Taliban have the ability to mass forces, they aren't good at fire and maneuver. Their cell structure doesn't give much scalability and their commanders keep getting killed off. But to become more effect than a few disjointed teams here and there they need to be able to move teams the way a buddy team moves individuals.

So what do you need to know about Fire and Maneuver at the ground level? First off the basics all apply, Shoot, Move, Communicate. You shoot so your buddy can move, he moves, then he gets set and communicates to you that he is shooting so you can move. It really is that simple, but when other guys are shooting back at you things get complicated in a hurry.

Want to see how wealthy your local government really is and break through the "selective presentation" game?
Government has built their internal empires by and through selective presentation and utilizing taxpayer revenue systematically separated from the general purpose operating budgets to build power-bases of standing wealth outside of the "general purpose" operating funds. The general purpose accounting is primarily where tax revenues are brought in and allocated for "general purpose" services government provides.
The investment fund financial power bases both domestic and international and government enterprise operations that have been built up over the decades though have been segregated outside of the general purpose operating funds. When carefully looking at a the gross income of a local government's general purpose operating budget (primarily tax revenue) and comparing it to the same large local government's Annual Financial Report known as the CAFR (all revenue income from all sources derived from investment, enterprise, and taxation) tax income is usually about 1/3rd of the gross income.
A large local government can be crying "Budget Shortfall' under their selectively presented general purpose operating budget but upon review of the financial wealth power based funds held and "other" income, the same local government upon total and comprehensive review can be clearly in the black by millions if not billions of dollars.
There is nothing complicated here. If an individual or a government has established significant fund balances developed over decades, those funds balances are power-bases by investment that makes or breaks many individual fortunes by where those funds are invested. If an individual or a local government thinks they can tag someone else to pay for shortfalls in other areas without tapping into their power-bases of funds under domestic and international investment management they will do so. As is the case for local governments they have been doing so very effectively with ever increasing taxes and debt issues tagging the taxpayer for several decades now. (Like giving a 13-year-old kid Carte blanche to write his own allowance check the parents get screwed every-single-time. Here we have attorneys elected to every level of government writing the check - Danger Will Robinson, Danger!)
So, do you want to see how Wealthy your government really is and watch how quickly all of these promoted budget shortfalls disappear? Ever notice how a local government promotes a new project to be funded by taxpayer debt and the population turns it down cold but then that local government finds the money "somewhere" and the project proceeds?
Here is what solves that selective presentation predicament for always trying to tap the public first:
Immediately make it law in your local government (City; County; State; School District; State University) that;
1. All investment funds domestic and International held or managed by that government or managed for the benefit of that government (enterprise operations and strictly participatory pensions included), of any type or designation must contribute quarterly 35% of their "gross" investment yield (NOT NET) into the general purpose operating funds.
2. All enterprise operations overseen by that local government or any quasi-government operation type overseen by that local government shall contribute quarterly 35% of their "gross" (NOT NET) revenue generated / collected into the general purpose operating funds.
3. Growth of any local government as determined proportionally by all operations directly or overseen by the local government (operating cost; salaries; employee benefits) shall be limited to not exceed 4.5% growth a year. A local government that has exceeded this limitation for the previous five years shall be limited to a 1.5% annual growth rate for at least five years forward.

4. Surpluses present within the local government's General Purpose operating funds that exceed 25% over the preceding year's projected operating budget shall be returned, with the payments tax exempted, annually to the resident taxpayers of that local government proportionally paid to each based on taxation collected from those same residents "and" businesses living and operating in that local government venue utilizing a five-year average of previous taxation collected from the same.

NOTE: If you take the time to look you will see that the same local governments that were crying bankruptcy between the years 2008 and 2011 increase their scope and size by 25% to 35% and if they had been restricted to a 4.5% growth rate most would have had budget surplus come 2011. Additionally, if you take the time to look you will see from the years 1990 to 2012, most local governments increased their scope and size by over 500% (the 300lb tick on the 100lb dog)
5. Any party; association; consultant; manager; elected or appointed government official who intentionally circumvents or attempts to circumvent policy and procedures as specified here will be subject to a 1st degree felony of: Theft by Taking, and will be investigated; indicted; prosecuted; and convicted without limitation for the same.

And as always: Keep it Simple! Do not allow your local representatives to stall and play around with the wording above by expansion or limitations. (they will diligently try using any tactic to do so). Foxes do not like clear and imminent accountability for eating chickens from the ranchers coop.
The above is applicable for every local government venue, City; County; State; School District; County Community College; and State University.
I NOTE: If State universities were held into compliance with the same, student's tuition's would go down to nil and in fact if made retroactive for the last three years the students would get substantial rebates refunded on tuition's previously paid. (These State Universities one and all have massive trust and endowment funds kept separate from their general purpose operating funds)

Please post; distribute; publish; twitter; circulate this communication so it is seen in the short run by the majority of the people in those 136,000+ local government operations that are operating in the United States of America.
A good name for the Law enacted in you local venues for the above could be: The Public Accountability and Equity Sharing tax relief - bill /statute/ law.

Per understanding CAFRs, people have been intentionally kept in the dark so long they forget the basics:

1. A "Budget Report" is a selective funding of x accounts from x resources (set up to be primarily funded with taxation and done so "for the year")

2. An "Annual Financial Report" is the showing of "all" income: Investment; taxation; and Enterprise, plus the "accumulated wealth over decades. Budgets are for the year, an AFR is for it all since creation of the entity.

There is a big difference between the two. A correct analogy would be: The budget to operate your house vs. your statement of net worth.

The public has been played with the biggest shell game of selective presentation there is allowing for massive fortunes to be made by the inside players over the last several decades..

Every investment fund large and small is a power base. Where that money is invested determines what company; real-estate venture, etc., is made or broken. Thus in line with that, never a mention of the 184,000 AFRs of the corresponding local governments..nor the many thousands of specialty investment funds they contain. I note gov pension funds facilitate the same. Paying employee benefits from the return on the funds is an after thought for the government players.

The head communists back in the 30's and 40's said they could take over America without firming a shot. The undercurrents of that statement were that they could depend on the greed and opportunity of the players to accomplish that goal and it did. US Collective government since 2000 brings in more gross income than the entire gross income of the population of the United States.

Taxation is rammed down the public's throat (1/3rd of the gross income) and Investment / Enterprise income (2/3rd of the gross income) the "silence is golden" rule is strictly enforced with the full symbiotic cooperation of the syndicated media; controlled education; and both political parties as applies over the last century.

Several future scenarios include or produce famine on a very large scale. The goal of a famine feeding strategy is to get people from the beginning of the famine to the end alive and not permanently damaged. In extreme circumstances this may call for unusual measures…
Preparing for famine. We can be reasonably confident that any future crisis will include food scarcity. From EMP to pandemic, from war to drought, food is a critical resource. (The projected death rate from an EMP, including death from a variety of causes including famine, is 9 out of 10 Americans!) The sooner we can educate people about the dangers ahead the sooner every family can begin to prepare. Every little bit will help. And the sooner we start the better.
People need to know the facts in a non-inflammatory way and in a way they can relate to, “painting them a picture” so to speak of how it could affect them and their family. They need to know they cannot expect a government rescue, they need to take personal responsibility for their preparedness. And they need hope – to believe that their efforts can make a difference in the outcome.
Americans have been manipulated, lied to, cheated, and stampeded from issue to issue by unscrupulous people in government, education, the media, and even the church. We need a well thought-out strategy so that we don’t sound like crazies predicting the end of the world or selling something. That’s not going to happen without a lot of deliberation and work.

One of the reasons for getting a head start on famine preparedness is that the real experience of famine is horrible - it is surreal and disorienting and frightening. People need mental preparation, a sort of “mental inoculation” so that they are mentally, emotionally, and spiritually up for the challenge. Without this inner preparation many people will give in to paralysis and hopelessness and make an already dire situation worse.
Consider all the time and effort and materials that are going toward creating lovely politically-correct landscaping in 99% of American cities. Most of that landscaping could be replaced with food-producing plants, pasture grasses, fruit- or nut-producing trees, edible decorative plants, and even simply gardens. Fruit trees take several years to come to maturity – if people are going to plant them they are going to need to get going now..
As a group or a church becomes prepared their efforts will be multiplied by those in the community who catch the vision and understand the dangers. City policies for landscaping, even public landscaping, could be improved, and laws examined to allow emergency contractual changes to neighborhood covenants.
Gardeners need to be educated on how to grow insect resistant crops that don’t require pesticides, or that can be treated without commercial chemicals that will in all likelihood be unavailable. Cold-resistant and drought-resistant crops should be encouraged and seeds (for more than a single season’s planting!) and know-how distributed.
Stored foods. Clearly the best option in the face of famine is to buy food in advance! The challenges are (a) the cost of accumulating food over and above everyday consumption, (b) storing a large quantity of food, some of which will need special storage conditions, (c) making sure there is a nutritional balance, and (d) trying to guess how long a famine might last and how much might be needed. Because we can make some advance preparations now we even have the luxury of asking a nutritionist to help us develop a nutritionally sound plan, or of finding some individual or organization that has already done this basic meal planning. (A good resource is the LDS storage food calculator.)
In addition to a centralized storehouse, food storage should also be dispersed to individual homes as much as possible to make it harder to be all stolen or destroyed in one emergency or raid. Dispersed storage also means greater storage totals, and greater participation as people take personal responsibility. Bulk foods purchases could feed as many as 1,000 people for around $100 per day.
Raised foods. Raising basic, hardy crops such as beans, cabbage, beets / sugar beets, and potatoes can contribute significantly to the food available. It’s difficult to raise grain in a gardening situation, except for corn. Whether or not corn grows well will depend on what caused the famine in the first place – it typically needs a long, warm growing season which may not happen in some areas. Bean pollination can be improved (if insects are affected by cold or disease) by growing larger varieties and hand-pollinating. Sprouting grains in spring could provide an early “crop”. Unless massive amounts of vegetable seeds are made available to a community in advance, with gardening help, the first year’s crops are not going to come close to meeting the need.
Livestock. Livestock that can survive on foods that people do not eat (like grass) are an option (cows, sheep, rabbits, etc.), but livestock that requires grain input (chickens and turkeys) may not be an efficient use of the calories available. Care must be taken (if possible) not to eat livestock that may be needed for other essential purposes, such as oxen or horses for plowing or transportation. Growing children, the elderly, and the ill would benefit greatly from additional protein (eggs/meat) and fats.
Purchased/traded foods. In a famine some food typically continues to be available from traders or markets or even in stores, but at a significantly higher price. Saving up money to purchase food after a famine begins would be crazy, since far more food can be purchased for the same amount of money before it begins. But it’s possible that a delegation could be sent to other areas with a surplus to trade for food. A survival community theoretically could bring back additional food to sell to the public to cover the expenses of the trip.
Hunted/found foods. Hunting, fishing, trapping, and foraging are all good sources so long as there aren’t thousands of other people competing for the same resources. Once famine has thinned the population and concentrated people in the cities for government feeding programs, wild game and edible weeds/plants may rebound and be more available.
Gleaned foods. Combining a wheat field leaves significant amounts of grain still in the field where the combines miss the stalks – that grain can be collected. There may be fruit on fruit trees that was too difficult to reach or that was overlooked by pickers. All food harvesting processes should be investigated as possible gleaning candidates.
Discarded foods. An organized effort to collect food thrown out by restaurants and grocery stores could make a significant contribution to feeding people, and if nothing else scavenged foods may be fed to livestock to supplement their feed and indirectly contribute to feeding people. Fruit left in the field because of blemishes or damage, insect damage or rot, might yet have an edible portion. Even rotten, disgusting foods may provide highly-nutritious food for maggots (rather than feeding on feces), which can be safely consumed by humans.
Livestock feeds. Animal products like “All Stock” are made with bran, minerals, and molasses. It contains 12% protein (red wheat is typically 14%), 2% fat, 15% fiber, and vitamin A and D – it could be consumed by humans. “Cull peas,” a product of split pea manufacture, are peas that are too small to be processed for human use. A serving of pea soup has 8 grams of protein, 26 grams of carbs, 3 grams of fat, and 161 calories. Chicken scratch is just coarsely ground corn and wheat. It costs more than just plain whole corn and wheat, but if whole grain is not available the scratch is edible. The one thing to watch out for is that some foods unfit for human consumption are sometimes dumped in the livestock market – grains contaminated with mold, pesticides and other chemical contamination. Great care will need to be used to detect and avoid harmful feed (and it’s not good for the animals either!)
Insects. Millions of people around the world already know that the local insect population can be considered a potential food source. Maggots, or other large insects / bugs / worms such as earthworms and cicadas and grasshoppers are edible and nutritious when properly prepared. In ideal circumstances insects could even be raised, rather than having to be foraged for (found foods, below). Insects could be fed foods that are unfit for human and livestock consumption and produce high quality protein in return.
Lake “seaweed”. Not all algae is edible (avoid globular and floating!), but the long stringy strand-types can be boiled (or pressure-cooked!) and consumed, containing starches and even fats. There may be water pollution issues, but in a worst-case scenario that would be a secondary concern. Blooms of algae (floating on surface or making the water turbid) can be highly toxic and make everything in the water, including fish, toxic. Saltwater kelp/dulse (sea lettuce) is edible.
Non-traditional foods. Some things are edible (or could contribute nutrition to a meal) that are not commonly considered food. Some foods consumed by other cultures may have been rejected as too spicy, disgusting, or strong. Even dogs, cats and horses in excess of what is needed for security and agriculture/hauling should be considered if times are desperate enough. Bones discarded by butchers (turkey bones, chicken bones, etc.) contain valuable nutrients, as do organ meats including heart, lung, kidneys, liver, and intestines. They’re all edible, all safe and nutritious, and all consumed in many other non-Western cultures today. See e University database of foods known to be used by populations around the world in famine. Just three crops - maize, wheat and rice - account for about 40% of the world's consumption of calories and protein. 95% of the world's food needs are provided for by just 30 species of plants. In stark contrast, at least 12,650 species names have been compiled as edible (Kunkel 1984)
Fillers. Historically, chaff and fine sawdust have been added to breads to make the flour go further and still be filling. It’s not nutritive, but it’s filling as a last resort. Steel-cut (pin-cut) oats can be added to chopped meats to extend the meats because the oats take on the flavor and are nutritious in themselves.
A note about Vitamins. If every family would stockpile a year’s supply of a good multivitamin for each person it would be a huge help toward meeting their nutritional needs (particularly Vitamin D.) People escaping famine by pouring into Irish cities in the mid-1800’s died more frequently from disease caused by crowded conditions (and weakened immune systems) than directly by starvation. “In famines, most people do not die of hunger but of hunger-related fevers and diseases,” according to the excellent Multitext Project in Irish History.

Fluoride “enhances the bio-availability of aluminum,” allowing it to cross the blood-brain barrier easier, thus making it more toxic. The following study is from 1998:

The aluminum level in the brains of the fluoride-treated group was double that of the controls.

With today’s manufacturing there are many chemicals and toxins that are both purposefully added to products as well as unintentionally added. Mercury is one of those unintended additions to many of the products people consume and topically apply every day. In order to avoid exposure to this heavy metal, and in turn avoid the risk of any heavy metal toxicity, you need to know where the metal resides in order to avoid it.

Mercury Highly Present in Many Foods and Consumer Products

One of the most significant places you may find mercury is in processed foods. In 2009, a study found that almost half of commercial high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) contained mercury — a carcinogenic chemical element that is toxic in all its forms to the human body. Even more troubling, nearly a third of 55 popular brand-name food and beverage products that listed HFCS as the first or second ingredient were found to contain mercury as a whole. With an incredible amount of processed foods and fast foods containing this ingredient, the result could be described as a mercury pandemic. Instead of addressing this major public health concern, the FDA is focusing their time on crushing beneficial supplements through NDI regulations that threaten the entire infrastructure of the nutraceuticals industry.

Mercury is also very present in skin whitening creams and body care products. Mercury has been found in some of these products at levels as high as 300,000 parts per million. A newspaper sent 50 skin-lightening creams to a certified lab for testing. Six were found to contain amounts of mercury banned by federal law. Five of the six had more than 6,000 parts per million — enough to potentially cause kidney damage over time.
Another everyday product you may want to avoid is compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs). Only months after it was found that energy saving compact fluorescent bulbs release carcinogenic chemicals into the air, a new study has found that these harmful chemicals are continually released from the bulbs over a period of weeks to months.

PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS: AMERICA'S LAST CHANCE...

The following article by Paul Craig Roberts outlines how Ron Paul is America's last chance at peacefully turning the tide. Given his conduct during the 08 campaign that is at the least, questionable.

However-that does not mean we can't use the Ron Paul campaign as leverage to elect candidates to local offices, clean out local governments and make real change locally-as Mr. Roberts discloses, a Ron Paul presidency would be impotent due to his lack of support, and raising of state and local candidates. A symbolic presidency-ant that's the best scenario.

America's Last Chance

America has one last chance, and it is a very slim one. Americans can elect Ron Paul President, or they can descend into tyranny.

Why is Ron Paul America’s last chance?

Because he is the only candidate who is not owned lock, stock, and barrel by the military-security complex, Wall Street, and the Israel Lobby.

All of the others, including President Obama, are owned by exactly the same interest groups. There are no differences between them. Every candidate except Ron Paul stands for war and a police state, and all have demonstrated their complete and total subservience to Israel. The fact that there is no difference between them is made perfectly clear by the absence of substantive issues in the campaigns of the Republican candidates.

Only Ron Paul deals with real issues, so he is excluded from “debates” in which the other Republican candidates throw mud at one another: “Gingrich voted $60 million to a UN program supporting abortion in China.” “Romney loves to fire people.”

The mindlessness repels.

More importantly, only Ron Paul respects the US Constitution and its protection of civil liberty. Only Ron Paul understands that if the Constitution cannot be resurrected from its public murder by Congress and the executive branch, then Americans are lost to tyranny.

There isn’t much time in which to revive the Constitution. One more presidential term with no habeas corpus and no due process for US citizens and with torture and assassination of US citizens by their own government, and it will be too late. Tyranny will have been firmly institutionalized, and too many Americans from the lowly to the high and mighty will have been implicated in the crimes of the state. Extensive guilt and complicity will make it impossible to restore the accountability of government to law.

If Ron Paul is not elected president in this year’s election, by 2016 American liberty will be in a forgotten grave in a forgotten grave yard.

Having said this, there is no way Ron Paul can be elected, for these reasons:

Not enough Americans understand that the “war on terror” has been used to create a police state. The brainwashed citizenry believe that the police state is making them safe from terrorists.

Liberals, progressives, and the left-wing oppose Ron Paul, claiming that “he would abolish the social safety net, privatize Social Security and Medicare, throw the widows and orphans into the street, abolish the Federal Reserve,” etc.

Apparently, liberals, progressives, and the left-wing do not understand that privatizing Social Security and Medicare and destroying the social safety net are policies that many conservative Republicans favor and are policies that Wall Street is forcing on both political parties. In contrast, a President Ron Paul would be isolated in the White House and would never be able to muster the support of Congress and the powerful interest groups to achieve such radical changes. Moreover, Ron Paul has made it clear that a welfare-free state cannot be achieved by decree but only by creating an economy in which opportunity exists for people to stand on their own feet. Ron Paul has said that he does not support ending welfare before an economy is created that makes a welfare state unnecessary.

Candidate Paul cannot take any steps to reassure Americans that he would not throw them to the mercy of the free market, because his libertarian base would turn on him as another unprincipled politician willing to sacrifice his principles for political expediency. If libertarians were not inflexible, candidate Paul could endorse Ron Unz’s proposal to solve the illegal immigration problem by raising the minimum wage to $12 an hour, so that Americans could afford to work the jobs that are taken by illegals.

Economist James K. Galbraith is probably correct that Unz’s proposal would boost the economy by injecting purchasing power and that the unemployment would be largely confined to illegals who would return to their home country. However, if Ron Paul were to treat Unz’s proposal as one worthy of study and consideration, libertarian ideologues would write him off. Whatever liberal/progressive support he gained would be offset by the loss of his libertarian base.

Why can’t libertarians be as intelligent as Ron Unz and see that if the Constitution is lost all that remains is tyranny?

In short, Americans cannot see beyond their ideologies to the real issue, which is the choice between the Constitution and tyranny.

So we hear absurd accusations that Ron Paul, a libertarian “is a racist.” “Ron Paul is an anti-semite.” “Ron Paul would favor the rich and hurt the poor.”

We don’t hear “Ron Paul would restore and protect the US Constitution.”

What do Americans think life will be like in the absence of the Constitution? I will tell you what it will be like, but first let’s consider the obstacles Ron Paul would face if he were to win the Republican nomination and if he were to be elected president.

In my opinion, if Ron Paul were to win the Republican nomination, the Republican Party would conspire to refuse it to him. The party would simply nominate a different candidate.

If despite everything, Ron Paul were to end up in the White House, he would not be able to form a government that would support his policies. Appointments to cabinet secretaries and assistant secretaries that would support his policies could not be confirmed by the US Senate. President Paul would have to appoint whomever the Senate would confirm in order to form a government. The Senate’s appointees would undermine his policies.

What a President Ron Paul could do, assuming Congress, controlled by powerful private interest groups, did not impeach him on trumped up charges, would be to use whatever forums that might be permitted him to explain to the public, judges, and law schools that the danger from terrorists is miniscule compared to the danger from a government unaccountable to law and the Constitution.

The reason we should vote for Ron Paul is to signal to the powers that be that we understand what they are doing to us. If Paul were to receive a large vote, it could have two good effects. One could be to introduce some caution into the establishment that would slow the march into more war and tyranny. The other is it would signal to Washington’s European and Japanese puppets that not all Americans are stupid sheep. Such an indication could make Washington’s puppet states more cautious and less cooperative with Washington’s drive for world hegemony.

What America Without the Constitution Will Be Like

In the January 4 Huff Post, attorney and author John Whitehead reported on the militarization of local police. Some police forces are now equipped with spy drones. Whitehead reports that a drone manufacturer, AeroVironment Inc., plans to sell 18,000 drones to police departments throughout the country. The company is also advertising a small drone, the “Switchblade,” which can track a person, land on the person and explode.

How long before Americans will be spied upon or murdered as extremists at the discretion of local police?

Recognizing the privacy danger, if not the murder danger, the American Civil Liberties Union has issued a report, “Protecting Privacy From Aerial Surveillance.” https://www.aclu.org/files/assets/protectingprivacyfromaerialsurveillance.pdf

The ACLU believes, correctly, that liberty is threatened by “a surveillance society in which our every move is monitored, tracked, recorded, and scrutinized by authorities.”

The ACLU calls on Congress to legislate privacy protections against the police use of drones. I support the ACLU because it is the most important defender of civil liberty despite other misguided activities, but I wonder what the ACLU is thinking. Congress and the federal courts have already acquiesced in the federal government’s warrantless spying on Americans by the National Security Agency. The Bush regime violated the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act many times, and all involved, including President Bush, should have been sent to prison for many lifetimes, as each violation carries a 5-year prison term. But the executive branch emerged scot free. No one was held accountable for clear violations of US statutory law.

The ACLU might think that although the federal executive branch has successfully elevated itself above the law, state and local police forces are still accountable. We must hope that they are, but I doubt it.

The militarization of local police has received some attention. What has not received attention is that state and local police are also being federalized. It is not only military armaments and spy technology that local police are receiving from Washington, but also an attitude toward the public along with federal oversight and the collaboration that goes with it. When Homeland Security, a federal police force, comes into states, as I know has occurred in Georgia and Tennessee, and doubtless other states, and together with the state police stop cars and trucks on Interstate highways and subject them to warrantless searches, what is happening is the de facto deputizing of the state police by Homeland Security. This is the way that Goering and Himmler federalized into the Gestapo the independent police forces of German provinces such as Prussia and Bavaria.

Homeland Security has expanded its warrantless searches far beyond “airline security.” The budding gestapo agency now conducts warrantless searches on the nation’s highways, on bus and train passengers, and at Social Security offices. On Tuesday January 3, 2012, the Social Security office in Leesburg, Florida, apparently a terrorist hotspot, became a Homeland Security checkpoint. The DHS Gestapo armed with automatic weapons and sniffer dogs demanded IDs from local residents visiting their local Social Security office. http://www.dailycommercial.com/News/LakeCounty/010412shield

Thomas Milligan, district manager for the Social Security Administration office, said staff were not informed their offices were about to be stormed by armed federal police officers. DHS officials refused to answer questions asked by local media and left with no explanation at noon, reports infowars.com.

The DHS gestapo justified its takeover of a Leesburg Florida Social Security office as being an integral part of “Operational Shield,” conducted by the Federal Protective Service to detect “the presence of unauthorized persons and potentially disruptive or dangerous activities.”

One wonders if even brainwashed flag-waving “superpatriots” can miss the message. The Social Security office of Leesburg, Florida, population 19,086 in central Florida is not a place where terrorists devoid of proper ID might be visiting. To protect America from the scant possibility that terrorists might be congregating at the Leesburg Social Security office, the tyrants in Washington sent the Federal Protective Service at who knows what cost to demand ID from locals visiting their Social Security office.

What is this all about except to establish the precedent that federal police, a new entity in American life, the Federal Protective Service, has authority over state and local police offices and can appear out of the blue to interrogate local citizens.

Why the ACLU thinks it is going to get any action out of a Congress that has accommodated the executive branch’s destruction of habeas corpus, due process, and the constitutional and legal prohibitions against torture is beyond me. But at least the issue is raised. But don’t expect to hear about it from the “mainstream media.”

Americans in 2012, although only a few are aware, live in a concentration camp that is far better controlled than the one portrayed by George Orwell in 1984. Orwell, writing in the late 1940s could not imagine the technology that makes control of populations so thorough as it is today. Orwell’s protagonist could at least have hope. In 2012 with the erasure of privacy by the US government, protagonists can be eliminated by hummingbird-sized drones before they can initiate a protest, much less a rebellion.

Never in human history has a people been so easily and willingly controlled by a hostile government as Americans, who are the least free people on earth. And a large percentage of Americans still wave the flag and chant USA! USA! USA!

The Bush regime operated as if the Constitution did not exist. Any semblance of constitutional government that remained after the Bush years was terminated when Congress passed and President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act. One wonders how the National Rifle Association, the defender of the Second Amendment, will now fare. If there is no Constitution, how can there be a Second Amendment? If the President, at his discretion, can set aside habeas corpus and due process and murder citizens based on unproven suspicions, why can’t he set aside the Second Amendment?

Indeed, it is folly to expect a police state to tolerate an armed population.

The NRA is very supportive of the police and military. Now that these armed organizations are being turned against the public, how will the NRA adjust its posture?

Many NRA members, pointing to the “Oath Keepers,” former members of the military who pledge to defend the Constitution, and to police chiefs who support the Second Amendment, believe that the police and military will disobey orders to attack citizens. But we already witness constantly the gratuitous brutality of “our” police against peaceful protesters. We witness military troops all over the world murder citizens who protest government abuses. Why can’t it happen here?

If you don’t want it to happen here, you had better figure out some way to get Ron Paul into the Presidency and to get him a cabinet and subcabinet that will support him.

Meanwhile, the police state grows. Take a moment to think. Do you know of any “violent extremism” happening in the US? The regime is telling you that it needs a new police bureau with unaccountable powers to “strengthen homeland security” against a nonexistent bogyman.

So who will be the violent extremists who require countering by the Bureau of Counterterrorism? It will be peace activists, the Occupy Wall Street protesters, the unemployed and foreclosed homeless. It will be whoever the police state says. And there is no due process or recourse to law.

Given the facts before you, you are out of your mind if you think Ron Paul’s rhetoric against the welfare state is more important than his defense of liberty.

Children are being abandoned on Greece's streets by their poverty-stricken families who cannot afford to look after them any more.
Youngsters are being dumped by their parents who are struggling to make ends meet in what is fast becoming the most tragic human consequence of the Euro crisis.
It comes as pharmacists revealed the country had almost run out of aspirin, as multi-billion euro austerity measures filter their way through society.

The five sums of money detailed in this single auditing rubric can be expressed as one thousand and thirty quadrillion US Dollars, four hundred and thirty four quadrillion US Dollars, one thousand four hundred and sixty four quadrillion US Dollars, four hundred and sixty four trillion US Dollars, and one thousand quadrillion US Dollars.

The sum of money deducted automatically by the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) from this single White Spiritual Boy account for bank charges and services for one quarter of the year 2010 was four hundred and sixty four trillion US Dollars. This compares with the total publicly acknowledged Global Gross Domestic Product of about seventy eight trillion US Dollars per year. Of this $78 trillion sum, the European Union accounts for about $16 trillion, the US $15 trillion, and China $11 trillion of the global total.

The charge on the police docket was "disrupting class". But that's not how 12-year-old Sarah Bustamantes saw her arrest for spraying two bursts of perfume on her neck in class because other children were bullying her with taunts of "you smell".
"I'm weird. Other kids don't like me," said Sarah, who has been diagnosed with attention-deficit and bipolar disorders and who is conscious of being overweight. "They were saying a lot of rude things to me. Just picking on me. So I sprayed myself with perfume. Then they said: 'Put that away, that's the most terrible smell I've ever smelled.' Then the teacher called the police."

The policeman didn't have far to come. He patrols the corridors of Sarah's school, Fulmore Middle in Austin, Texas. Like hundreds of schools in the state, and across large parts of the rest of the US, Fulmore Middle has its own police force with officers in uniform who carry guns to keep order in the canteens, playgrounds and lessons. Sarah was taken from class, charged with a criminal misdemeanour and ordered to appear in court.

Surprise! Gasoline Prices in the US are Rigged

You don’t have to be a genius to know that gasoline costs around $3.50 per gallon in the US. What most Americans don’t know is that the only thing keeping the price above $2.00 is the fact that our oil companies are exporting our gasoline at bargain basement prices to their own foreign subsidiaries subsidized by high American prices.
You see, gasoline usage, around the world, has fallen dramatically.
Gas is a liquid. Imagine a glass of water. You fill it to the top, you add more, it overflows.
Same with gasoline. Tank farms fill up, the rusty pickup truck in the driveway has gas in it, the BP station is full to capacity, everything that can hold gasoline except for your bath tub is filled to capacity. Normally, this would crash prices.
Instead, America exports gas, dirt cheap and in huge volume, 480,000 barrels per day. But this is an export you say, a good thing. Is it now?
Hmmm.
Let’s look at some facts:

American refineries are the most expensive in the world with the highest wages
The gasoline exported was made from crude oil shipped halfway around the world
To gain market share, America would have to compete with refineries closer to oil supplies, refineries with cheap labor, most of which are owned by governments or government controlled corporations

This means America’s exports are subsidized. By “subsidized,” we mean “fixed” or “rigged.” I think it is safe to say we have known this for a very long time, I don’t expect anyone to have a heart attack reading this.

They watchmore of the movie-Jerry shoots Robin’s expensive Valmet’s barrel, ruiningit. They laugh. David Getz enters, 6’ 200lb, in his 20’s infatigue pants, combat boots, a form fitting t-shirt. Soldier. “Ah, you found The Survivors.”

“You shot my rifle! What kind of sick bastard does that?!” More laughs. Robin pulls his handgun.

“Chump.” Kayla snorts. Robin shoots one shot-then his pistol jams…

“Uh, um, can-can we have a cease-fire?”

“Yeah. Um, uh, you’re not going to believe this but I loaded the wrong bulletsin my gun!”

Kayladoesn’t look comfortable-Chris laughs: “Kayla I remember you doing that yourfirst mission.”

While Kevin Costner is not my favorite actor by any means, "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" wasn't a bad film, at least in my memory. During the "inspirational speech" portion of the film Robin tells the disbelieving peasants "Even a child can be taught to find the chinks in armor!"
Robin was right, all armor has weak points.

With the proliferation of body armor, commercial and surplus, it makes sense to think about defeating body armor with the tools you have. So far only limited crime has been committed by criminals in body armor, but I can only see that number going up as it is part of the Zetas MO. In the criminal arms race, body armor is the next step for organized crime.

Modern armor is usually a vest with ballistics inserts and a ballistic helmet. This armor is specifically designed to protect against the "center of mass shot" that most of us train to deliver. That being said, you don't have to take the center of mass shot. Specialized armor such as an EOD suit is unlikely to be used by an attacker as it is unwieldy (however improvised armor as used by the North Hollywood Bandits covered more area than standard commercial body armor).

Generally the soft portion of the vest is multi layered kevlar, a polyarylamine with very high tensile strength. The ballistic insert can be made of ceramic, plastic, or metal (AR500 steel makes dandy inserts if you don't mind the weight). Each insert has pros and cons. Ceramic is great for one or two hits. Plastic stops hypervelocity rounds from rifles, but not always low velocity high momentum rounds from big pistols. Metal inserts are damn heavy and interfere with a compass for dismounted movement.

A ballistic helmet is generally made of kevlar fiber stiffened with a synthetic resin although there are many more surplus "steel pots" on the market than kevlar. The steel pots can be defeated by nearly any firearm, but the kevlar ballistic helmets require something in the centerfire rifle category. Spider silk has been considered a future replacement for Kevlar, but despite advances in manufacturing technology it hasn't matured as a technology.

COMMENT: Limbs are vulnerable but they move about. Your duck shooting shotgun with a flat wad that spread the shot or a well aimed slug can take a limb; if you take an arm they only got the other and will pass out from shock-bleed out in seconds but might be able to take cover. Go for the groin or upper legs and you immobilize them-they'll still have their weapon but being literally a sitting duck you can pop em in the arm or face. Incidentally, long barreled shotguns with a choke are good against low flying RC class drones.
