China / Japan Conflict Looming?
The Middle East is on fire.
QE3 starting.
Now China and Japan may go to war over some disputed islands?
WWIII anyone?

Bill Nye the Science Guy Teaches Effective Debate Tactics vs. Creationists
Here's a good debate tactic:
Call your opponent a liar, and refuse to debate.
Works like a charm. I see it used a lot online, as a matter of fact.
I like this part the best:
*This is another reason not to debate creationists: in the scientific
community, theories do not rise or fall based on debate and rhetoric, but on
the strength of evidence.*
Well, with that established, I'll sit here and wait for the first
conclusive piece of evidence that proves macroevolution, mutation of one
species into another, or that living beings can come from not-living
objects. Surely with millions... more »
Selco: What Light and Darkness Meant for Us
Selco
not only discusses the importance of having light in a SHTF scenario,
but also the importance of darkness on his blog. Read it.
Have light appropriate for your situation.
Load up on rechargeable batteries and solar battery chargers.
Don't forget the tea lights and disposable lighters which can double as
bartering objects.
In most situations, do not use a light outside at night.
Benghazi Choices and Consequences
Choices and consequences in Benghazi.
A few quotes:
*
Now we have NATO-armed Salafi-jihadis in Libya, and House of Saud-financed
and Turkey-based Salafi-jihadis in Syria - deploying "terra" antics such as
suicide bombers to bring down the Assad regime - all wired up and ready to
roll.
...
***
*So what now? Who're you gonna bomb? Who're you gonna drone to death? What
about bombing Benghazi a year after condemning Gaddafi to death because he
might have threatened to ... bomb Benghazi? *
We can continue to fight a "war on terra" indefinitely without
consequences, both domestica... more »

Revamping the LBE into a Warbelt
I'm in the process of turning my "Blackhawk" Battle-belt based heavy LBE
setup into a slimmer "Warbelt" configuration. Right now I have one of
those LBEs that has a large buttpack, two SAW pouches, places for
canteens/Nalgene bottles, and plenty of mag pouches.
If you served in the Army in the 90s before LBVs became popular, in the
days of flak vests and LBEs, you likely know what I am talking about. Some
guys wore the issue LBE setup, and some guys wore enough stuff on their
LBEs to make a ruck almost redundant.
It's ungainly as all get-out, although I bet I could live out of th... more »

Try and keep your feet dry. When we're out humpin', I want you boys

One, take good care of your feet. Two, try not to do anything stupid, like
getting yourself killed."

The strange birth of NY’s gun laws
*"Big Tim" Sullivan, crooked Tammany Hall politician, author of New York's
Sullivan Act and insane tertiary syphilis victim.*
Sullivan knew the gangs would flout the law, but appearances were more
important than results. Young toughs took to sewing the pockets of their
coats shut, so that cops couldn’t plant firearms on them, and many
gangsters stashed their weapons inside their girlfriends’ “bird cages” —
wire-mesh fashion contraptions around which women would wind their hair.
Ordinary citizens, on the other hand, were disarmed, which solved another
problem: Gangsters had been bi... more »
III Arms: AR Update
**UPDATE** Citadel folks: Please take a moment and answer the 3 polls at
right. The newest one will be a big help in laying the groundwork for the
Citadel.
~~
AR: The man has skills - and he's not done yet.
Are you an AR shooter? This is one of the builds being put together by
Millerized for III Arms.
Citadel folks: Begin to consider firearms and ammo inter-changeability and
requirements for each household. Should every home agree to have at least
one firearm in each of the major calibers? If the world does go to a SHTF
period, who knows what may be available?
Anyway, here's the... more »
Dual Purpose: EDC Bag - Survival Emergency Bag (SEK kit)
Video showing the EDC Bag setup I´m currenly using. It has enough to cover
the basics, but still has almost 50% of the bag empty, space for more stuff
being one of the most useful things to have on daily basis.
Maybe that space is used for documents while running errands. Maybe for
throwing the grear for shooting and going to the gun club or a bit more
gear and going for a hike.
In this video I do the show and tell thing and also talk about mindset when
setting up such a kit.
Enjoy! FerFAL
You Don't Need It Until You Need It
When I first joined the Army, I was one of those guys who had to have
everything. And a backup. I learned quickly through experience that while
it's a neat feeling to never need something, and to be able to help your
buddies out, it's usually not worth the price paid- that is, in extra
weight. Being assigned mostly to Humvee scout platoons, I could always
bring extra stuff, but I learned to keep it in a separate bag and to *keep
it on the truck*.
I went to a minimalist approach while on foot, preferring to go as light as
possible as often as possible. I often would not pack anyth... more »
Friends and Tribes
I spent my last year in high school in an old-fashioned, KJV-Only,
"Independent" and "Fundamentalist" unaccredited church school. I received
corporal punishment in my senior year, at the age of sixteen. It didn't
help the pastor remain calm when the two guys and I being swatted laughed,
but that is a different story...
In every school and church, there are positives and negatives. One very
big positive about this school was the fact that is also served as a
boarding house for kids who were all but given up on. A combination of a
heavy hand of discipline, and a large amount of pe... more »
Mo's Film Maker Arrested - but wait, there's more...
Just something to think about: The film maker was on probation. Once you
get hit with a charge, the normal rules of society simply do not apply to
you any longer. This guy simply does not have 1A any longer.
Lawfare. Look it up. It is the use of law to smear and otherwise take a
potential "enemy" out of play by putting him in prison and ruining his
credibility.
You already grumble that you can't go a single day without committing a few
felonies.
So, you know it is real.

Sipsey Street Exclusive: File this under Praxis. Department of Homeland Security using drones that look like civil aviation.
*Cessna 172 (full size.)*
As Smithsonian Magazine reported last year, "Some drones also look like
conventional aircraft."
A recent encounter by a friend of mine led me to check out reports that
DHS, America's own home-grown political secret police, are using drones
that look like Piper Cubs and other commonly-encountered civilian aircraft.
My sources confirm that this is case. Said one, "Well hell yes they do. It
