A Citadel Discussion
A few days ago I posted that America was raised as a nation of Riflemen, and we should consider a Rifleman Standard as a pre-requisite for living within the Citadel.There were wonderful arguments from both sides.So let me posit a second discussion. COMMENT: some IIIers think Kerodin's pushing some kind of scam, that Idaho is a bad place to hack a defensible community out of the woods because of proximity to neo-nazis and a federal government center.
My take? He ought to have made a bid to move those people into a pre-existent community that was corrupt, take over via recall election but you take what you can get and Kerodin obviously has some pull. Keep an eye on him, make him accountable if he's pulling a scam but if this is legit...
Really he should have led his followers to a town already built-do you know how much work it is to lay in sewer, roads, power lines, etc? Not to mention there are power and resource access issues, road and rail communications-and wil there be an airport?
I would LIKE to see this work. It could work better if he got his followers to stage recall elections, take over surrounding communities and instead of one town that can be painted as a "compound" him and his could have a hunk of state that's defensible and would require major military asssets to put down... a task that if other Patriots got on the ball and copied Kerodin or staged recall elections and take over towns would become impossible. Build Free Zones and have those zones mutually supporting.
We might yet win this peaceably but I have my doubts.

Painting My .308
I had a black gun that I was very happy with. It was a black Savage Police model with a heavy barrel and an accutrigger. I put a Harris Bipod on it, and a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 scope mounted with a DNZ Game Reaper mount.It's *heavy*. It weighs between 12-14 pounds, if I remember right.Boy can it throw some projectiles though. Hits on head-sized steel at 350 yards are boringly regular with the Nikon's BDC, along with this online ballistics tool. Turns out Nikon is having a sale right now also, by the way. Thanks to Mr. Mosby, I am utterly destroyed today. Today was a legs day as far as lifting goes. In short:Deadlifts, Straight-Legged Deadlifts, Good Mornings, Squats, Front Squats, Side Bends, Leg Curls, and Leg Extensions.I usually do a mile or two running prior to lifting, but I'm sick, so I skipped it.I know. Excuses. But today was different.
